Each shoe has a visible Horween stamp. Just something cool that only us shoe nerds would appreciateYeah, I need to make room for a custom Junior's jacket.
Prob a dumb question but what do you mean by "double stamped"?
I think it's interesting, and I'm happy they are transparent about it, to see "New" whiskey listed on the box to denote that it's the new formulation (really bourbon) of dyeI have this shoe and absolutely love them. Great deal for someone.

Well you picked yourself up quite a pair, so obviously you have some appreciation ?Ahhh, got it! I'm not that deep in the game as you can see

Yeah, his pair are also the Harvard 2, which are on the updated 376 last. I think it's got a better heel than 314. My box also just says Whiskey but it's from 2019. I would guess yours are lighter than his as bourbon has a bit more brown in it, imoDamn, that's a keen eye you got my-man. I've heard a little about that but this is the first time I've had it confirmed. Honestly, I prefer the color of these to mine which I guess means I like new Whiskey better. My box definitely does not make that distinction.......

Interesting indeed. Wonder when C&J started labeling "new" whiskey on the box? I have three pairs of whiskey shoes/boots from C&J, newest pair produced in March 2019, and all of the boxes are labeled plain whiskey.I think it's interesting, and I'm happy they are transparent about it, to see "New" whiskey listed on the box to denote that it's the new formulation (really bourbon) of dye
I really think it was a 2020 thing. I haven't bought anything whiskey post 2019Interesting indeed. Wonder when C&J started labeling "new" whiskey on the box? I have three pairs of whiskey shoes/boots from C&J, newest pair produced in March 2019, and all of the boxes are labeled plain whiskey.
Ah, ok.I really think it was a 2020 thing. I haven't bought anything whiskey post 2019
@adschus mind telling us when you purchased these?
There had always been both colors available. However, Horween recently (I think 2020) no longer produces the whiskey color as the dyes used in the recipe were considered environmentally unfriendly. So now bourbon and whiskey are using the same recipe, but that doesn't mean that the starting shell couldn't be lighter thus giving some variationAh, ok.
Not C&J related, but I though it was interesting that Nishant and I both MTO'ed EG Galway around the same time, and his was "bourbon" while mine was labled "whiskey" crup. I asked specifically for whiskey but I know in the past, even as far back as 2017, EG produced both whiskey and bourbon shell footwear. Now I'm wondering if my pair is the "new" whiskey. I'd requested the darkest hid available, but the shade is relatively light. I'd say it's comparable to my Harlech from March 2019.
