The Plain Black Shirt - A Little Help Please

I like to wear a plain black buttondown shirt many evenings, they are versatile and the color looks good on me. The best I have ever owned is a plain black twill from Seize Sur Vingt which unfortunately isn't offered anymore -- their current fabric is a pinpoint that they insist is better, but it is not as lustrous as the previous fabric, and they have also changed the cut of the shirt and the buttons. After months of looking, I haven't found anything else even close to my old favorite.

Can anyone recommend a great source for a slim fit (but not skin tight) black twill shirt? I'd prefer one with thick, dark mother of pearl buttons like the SSV shirt, but at this point I'll take what I can get -- fit and fabric are the most important things.

I know that I could go custom to ensure I get what I want, but it just seems like of all things this should be easy to find off the rack -- it's just a plain black shirt, albeit one of good quality. Furthermore, black usually fades quickly, and I wear these shirts a lot, so going 100% custom could be quite expensive.

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice.

You will need a tin hat to go with that shirt on this forum!

Try Bachrach. They do heavy twill 100% cotton shirts in button or French cuffs in black. They have an online service if there isn't a shop near you.
