I'm sick and tired of you NYC folks and your vast selection of wine in retail shops. /rant

You ever buy online Pio? I've done it a few times recently and had good experiences. A great wine retail shop opened near my house a few months ago and it's been my go-to though.

I was going to go to silver tips on Friday. It seems like zachys isn't that far away. Maybe I'll check it out

Zachy's has great case sales. You kind of have to watch their reviews on them though, sometimes I think they just want to move mediocre product.

I'll be a proxy for you.

I buy online in the cool months but will not buy in the summer months due to heat. I've had Zachy's ship to me and had good results.

Thanks for the offer pB. I just find there's something nice about an actual physical store front. It's hard to replace random shelf browsing.

There is something nice about the brick and mortar wine shop. I just wondered into a place I haven't noticed in a while called Bottlerocket. Pretty cool place.

Haul from a very nice LCBO gift card. Can you guys tell me how long 'till the Rauzan-Segla is drinking? It's an '07.

I would expect the Rauzan-Segla to be approachable now, given the vintage and the Merlot content. If it were my bottle, I'd probably be drinking it between 3 and 5 years from now. I have been somewhat disappointed by the '07s I've tried, as they have lacked concentration, and in many cases, received the same oak treatment as a much more powerful vintage. The end result is a wine which would have otherwise been a nice, early drinking, light bodied claret, marred by a heavy oak streak.

Going to drink my 2003 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée in the next few days. A grilled ribeye, some caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms.
