I read the last 40 pages on this thread and didn't see any mention of this sweater

Is it because people don't like sweaters or because this sweater doesn't look good? I want to use it to walk around a ski town in 40-60 degree weather. It will replace this sweater, which I don't like how it looks anymore

I like the blue sweater with the cowl neck. It is one of my favorite pieces from the latest collection. There are some great details, including the white trim at the back of the neck. That being said, I typically prefer wool to cotton. I think the wool tends to keep its shape better. Is the second sweater in your post the naval one with the hood?

Permanent! Though it's been mentioned a few times before for the greyish officer chinos a while back I think. I forgot but I think it looks cool

This wash was disappointing with my grey chinos. If you haven't washed the clydes, I might try dry cleaning to see if you can avoid the white streaking you get with a washing machine.

Yup, they still wound up with weird dye loss from the washing machine. I'd suggest everyone else to hand wash.

Bummer... I've seen that with other types of garments (the worst is a coat I have from AB Fits that lost dye in weird streaky patterns).

I think the streaks sort of add to the character of the pants, but they wouldn't appeal to everyone.

yeah hand wash is the way to go for all of the RRL selvedge pants. I usually just fill up a deep sink with warm water and a drop of detergent. basically recreate a spin cycle with your hands. and continute that for 3-4 minutes. alternate directions every minute or so.

i wouldn't purposely this myself but ive always admired the way yours look.

RL recommends dry cleaning these first to set the dye and make them color fast. Then you can wash them. Too bad they were soaked...

Very happy I read these before dropping mine in the washer. Anything specific I should request from the dry cleaner when "setting the dye"?

I have a pair of the original Norfolks and 2 pairs of the New Norfolks. While I found the sizing to be weird on the original Norfolks (I sized down a 1/2), the New Norfolks fit much better IMO and TTS (i.e. I wear a size 11 in all sneakers, and found that the 11 in the New Norfolk fit me perfectly).

So I wound up picking up a few items from this past season's Unionmade sale. Got the hamilton brown clyde's, fair isle indigo knit cap, and the Owyhee workshirt.

I tell you though, my experience with them was less than stellar. First off, either there is large sizing inconsistencies among the same pieces of RRL or their sizing charts were way off. They listed the waists on the clyde's as TTS according to their measurements, but I found the very usual plus 2 in the waist (a 32 measures 17" laid flat across the waist). Also, they listed the Owyhee workshirt as having a 27" sleeve as measured from the end of shoulder down to the end of cuff. I thought, wow this is great, a long sleeve and a slim fit, exactly what I have a hard time finding from RRL. Well wouldn't you know it, it actually measures closer to 25", and is far too short for me. Combine that with final sale on all sale items, and it's frustrating.

Also had an issue (accidently ordered the wrong size for one of the items) that I caught right away after ordering. Sent them an email and followed up with a call, the guy on the phone could not seem more disinterested in trying to help me ('oh man, huff, I don't know, huff, we have this sale and we are like soooo busy') but said that they would 'see what they could do'. Well wouldn't you know about 5 days or so after the sale (and a day after shipping my items) they sent me a response saying they were slammed and didn't get to my request in time. I suggest that anyone dealing with them for the first time understand that you will get pretty much zero in terms of customer service.

That being said, the canvas clyde's are a great piece. Great shade of brown, and I love that they have more durable 'jeans' buttons as opposed to the regular stiched ones that appear so weak on the other clyde's and officer chinos. Also I was initially intimidated by the '13 oz heavy canvas' description, but find that they are actually more comfortable upon initial wear than my rigid twill officers and rigid twill clyde's I own. Also the workshirt is a really nice deep blue/indigo with chain stich runoff, shame about the sizing on that one.

^ Got the Clyde's also from UM in size 32 and measured at the top of waist they are 32. As I am a 31/32, gave them a hot soak and they did not shrink.


May tailor or just leave .....At $100 will likely jus wear em as they are
