Some of my favourite fits are Toyo enterprise (buzz/sugarcane) mixed with rrl. The holy grail would be the Roughwear contract A2 buzz rickson's made for RRL. super rare.

Also for all involved, I thought I found a steal on eBay AU for the indian-head patch wool jacket with leather sleeves. from a seller 'Machic'

I received it and it turned out to be fake, with authentic product used in the listing. having seen RRL be misplaced at consigners, I took the chance with eBay and paypal's guarantees - sending it back for a full refund as per ebay.

There's a picture of the listing and the tags for y'all to be on the lookout for pretty good fakes, and if you didn't have RRL from that time period, you might not know.

and the listing is up again...

That hanger chain is another tell. While I’m guessing they’ve used them, I don’t think I have anything with one.

Took a pic of mine.

The hanger chain is on an old black cowhide cafe racer (mine came from RL) that I used for the tag. I also compared to a denim western and (my first ever) Matlock workshirt. I believe they used one on another version of that jacket when they re-released it with unbelievably supple teacore horsehide., as well as on the brown (Wilkins) jacket.

Looking at yours, I've noticed the hanger loop on the fake has the wrong colour thread and isn't the correct texture.
I remember the good 'ol days of "who in their right mind would bother faking this" before there were videos on YouTube telling people how lucrative reselling RRL was... and before festusspurs!

Sorry man. I got mixed up with which was which in your pics.

Also interesting they’re making fakes of something from many seasons ago.

Please tell more about festusspurs - I have seen her (?) on eBay for years, with often interesting offerings.

Festusspurs is likely a professional reseller. Looks like they buy out RL.com and all the outlets to resell at retail or above retail from time to time. Haven't done business with them but they seem to have a lot of inventory and the pictures of the pre-owned stuff they list look legit. Does upset me that I can't get lots of the nicer pieces from RL direct (which I prefer) without having to put an SA so far out I feel bad having them run around trying to locate a piece. However, stockists seem to have better inventory now than they used to so it's less of an issue.

New stuff on the website - these caught my eye...

I'm in the southern hemisphere so my flannels are in storage... but I'm 90% sure both of these have fabrics release before in the last 4 years. in fact, I'm nearly 100% sure I have the shirt on the right.
Since when did RRL just re-release old material as seasonal? Am I going nuts?
They’ve been releasing similar patterns a lot lately. I think they have always done this though, just maybe not quite as often.

I think RL often buys a bunch of bulk fabric and they want to use it up. Sometimes they reproduce an item, and sometimes they use the fabric in other patterns. I've seen them use the same jungle cloth in different jackets over a multi year period for example.

Just looked back, my shirt is from 2018-19! I have noticed on repaired items they use fabrics from previous seasons, which is a nice touch.

A lot of products added to EU sales. Most of the things I wanted to buy were already on sale at some other webshops, but I might buy some more. I’m happy I saved my money for now.

What website are you looking at? In the French/Italian ones I don't see any sales
