Recently acquired this, what are your thoughts?

Agreed, but those are not actually RRL knock offs, they’re more likely the remnants of the now defunct Ralph Lauren “Denim & Supply“ label which existed from 2011 till 2016 (when Ralph was hitting some hard times, cutting back product and changing CEO’s ,,,, twice).
Denim & Supply was like a younger “bohemian” version of RRL with more graphic t-shirts, hoodies and sweats. It strayed too much into America flag-ish and turquoise-y jewelry in MHO, but was damn close to RRL style. It was basically a cheaper version of RRL with a slimmer fit. There was an awesome stand alone D & S store on University Place near Union Square in NYC that blew me away the first time I saw it. When Ralph discontinued the line in 2016 they incorporated the denim/military concept into the Polo brand.

The Denim & Supply label may be gone but we still have Avicci’s (he was the face of D & S) music video featuring the model Kristina Romanova. Ironic that the title of the video is “Wake Me Up (When It’s All Over)” because both the D & S label is “over” so is the Swedish DJ ... Avicii.


And you can also still find some pretty cool Denim & Supply on eBay.

For those that have seen my cold weather posts, know I'm a cardigan guy through and through. The patchwork shirt has also caught my eye but I got the cardigan prior to the shirt hitting the sale and I love this piece. Slightly itchy yes, nothing like the wool green and black plaid shirt jacket they had a season ago though. It's 173 degrees lately so no I haven't worn it aside from this quick photo op haha

I have an RRL chambray shirt with anchors all over from about 2011 which the current Polo anchor shirt reminded me of. Also surprised at the price of the Polo anchor shirt. Recently Polo has had some selvedge chinos which are very similar to the RRL ones.

Jersey band collar shirt is a winner. Great cream color and soft feel. Two thumbs up.

I can't share your enthusiasm for D&S. That brand was an RL misfire. It was usually piled up in untidy closeout bins at Macy's.

I'm probably a XL but like my shirts baggy, so always go with XXL.

D & S is still one of my favorite brands, a lot more flashy than Rrl. But in between all the ‘flashyness’.. there are some quality pieces I still own and wear regularly (slim fit jeans, henleys) I have a d&s distressed chunky cardigan that is almost identical to the Rrl blue distressed cardigan (19 winter). But it seems they were all over the place with their quality/sourcing and too inconsistent.. Rrl does a much better job in this department, for the most part.
