Stag/Supply and Advise currently have RRL sales going on. I would expect in the next several days the official website will have a sale earlier than expected.

This is the European and North American director for Ring Jacket. Under the Rake account (in which the series of photos also appears) he is asked what the shirt is and replies "vintage". It's a RRL. And it's not even a vintage RRL. The distinctive pocket stitching peeks through in some photos, while the distinctive RRL metal concho top button is clearly discernible in others. Why not just say it's RRL?

It's disingenuous, but so what? Homeboy already works in the thankless field of rarefied menswear. Can you allow him to be coy, or do you need to check the waistband of his drawers to know whether they're "vintage" ?

On this note, shop assistants in New York and Los Angeles are always vying for the title of "most intrusive" - don't ask me who makes my jeans, Tyler. Just keep wearing yours for another year. Not like Tokyo, where everyone clocks you from top to bottom before you've even walked into the store.

So what? is precisely my question. I don't need to check his underwear, no. But the more appropriate analogy here would be: if he's wearing a pair of Calvin's peaking above his waistband where ".... Klein" is discernible, why say it is otherwise?

Permanent Style routinely wears one of those vintage (ie used) Levis denim shirts which can be had off the Bay for 30 bucks and states as much. No big deal. Some bespoke shoe makers in the thankless field of rarefied objects often laud other shoe makers. So what's the big deal? I'm not calling the guy out. I just don't see what the big deal is.
