I know some of you will think this just plain wrong, but I wore these SW Commando Boots today with a charcoal suit and tie. I had a court appearance and then lunch with a group of clients/commercial bankers. I think it made for a great look.
they look great. with or without suit.
might even work with shorts. no socks of course. :)

Suited and booted in #8 today!
400

Al, Those are very nice boots! The color on those have ripened into an awesome shade. Almost look like Color #2 or something.

Color 8 today...

1000

(Weather is warming up a bit so I snagged the LHS this morning.)

Color 8 yesterday...

1000

My J Crew PCT boot hasn't gotten much wear in the year that I've owned them, but yesterday's wear reminded me of what a wonderful boot this is. Absolutely love. This pic does not do it justice!

RTP, you have the finest taste. I am surprised to see you wear LHS. I don't recall seeing you wear them often... Guess, it could be due to your weather as you referenced. But they both are looking awesome.

Good news I got my jcrew LWB
bad news they look used

Now I have called jcrew and emailed said pictures and they refunded me half the 519 I paid with tax so I got them for 260 for that price I can except the scratch

That is absolutely awesome. I love the quote about how it would look like that before you hit the end of your driveway. Very true though... :)

These just arrived. Too bad I can't wear them yet with the snow still on the ground outside. Should I be concerned that the laces are tied that close together?

1000

That snuff suede is killer. I need to finally get nano, so that I can get my snuff out there. That is the only thing holding me up.

Shoulda, what material are those Indy boots? Are they tan calf? Regardless, they look awesome.

There are precious few models for which color 8 would not be my first choice. Two come to mind, however: LWB (cigar), LHS (whiskey).

SFTG, I agree with you that both of those designs are magical. But, I think the Ravello LHS is the king of the LHS family with Whiskey nipping on its heels. Just me though. :)

Here are the pics that I promised. I just found out another defects. The shoe lace on the right shoe is not alighted correctly. BUT I only found out after I started trying them on at home and already have small signs of wearing. Now should I call alden SF to send it back or just keep it?

Those look absolutely amazing. The plain toe design just absolutely shows off the Shell Cordovan. I would talk to SF and see what they say. The #8 PTB is a standard Alden shoe, so it should be readily replaced.

Same

Same snuff suede here .. Nice

Those have a nice olive-y tone to them, looking great.

Those SW Boots are magnificent. I really want to get the Plaza Shortwing boot... :-/

Got my cap toes in today and I must say they are incredible. Hell I’m scared to wear these bad boys!

~~Sorry for the crappie iPhone pic

I assume that those are the JCrew Naval Boots? Those are a very nice perf tip boot. Always keep in mind that they are just shoes (well boots)... Stare at them, maybe capture a few nice pictures of them, and then get them out there and enjoy them!

Overall, the SF Alden crew did an awesome job today! Lots of Color 8 today (with some snuff)!

Thanks to you all for your kind words on my Cigar LWBs! They are one of my top shoes in my wardrobe. :)

I decided to go with the understated today.

Alden for Brooks Brothers Black Shell Wingtip Balmoral. Wow, that is a long name! These were a recent eBay pickup. Started going off my day at an offsite meeting, thus they get the still at home pics... :) I really like the plaza-like last and the exposed eyelets on these. The exposed blackened eyelets give them some character. I will also add, that I actually like the lighter color interior that the BB Aldens sport.

^ The BB WT is one of my favorite models. A classic workhorse shoe. Shame BB doesn't stock more sizes; otherwise I'd add the black to my Color 8 pair to round out the collection.

Much thanks Mike. Color 8 is the only LHS I have. The fit wasn't perfect out of the box, so I haven't reached for them often. However, after wearing them all day yesterday, they are settling in quite nicely.

A nice day indeed for our thread!

Thanks Mike. They are vegetable tanned leather. For me, it is probably the best fitting Indy I have tried. Like shell, I just avoid the rain if I can.

I would die for a cigar LWB I never seem to find the waitlist or catch them when in

Ditto. I have 7 alden. My mistake besides passing up the opportunity to acquire them at TSM is not cultivating a relationship with one of the bigger retailers. Fixing that now.
