Frank you take 11E hampton and 11D modified? Can you contrast the fit between the lasts? Hampton is next on my list, and god those whiskey bals look good...

So the Alden factory is back from vacation and ... they're confirming orders. Orders that include whiskey, ravello and cigar.

This doesn't mean that your favorite retailer has the shoes at the moment but it does mean that Alden has the shell and they are begining production. All is right in Aldenland (good thing too because they've apparently lost the Australian market).

You are keeping good track of my sizing :). Let me try them on side by side and form an opinion. I haven't worn either much. I'll post some thoughts shortly.

That. Exactly.:nodding:

In case anyone's interested, I was at Alden SF a few days ago and they had a size 7D Ravello LWB in stock. Last pair, in case someone fits into these puppies...

...and Sky Valet is stocking Whiskey PTBs, antique edging, in all sizes from 9D - 12D. I already have Whiskey chukkas and monks, otherwise I'd be all over them.

Does the IOC have a thread here on SF? Seems as if this is a question they must never have asked themselves. Clearly, we've all just been enlightened to the fact that the Olympics are very much misguided. I for one am thankful. I'll cancel the rhythmic gymnastics recording on my DVR.
And to keep this post at least half on topic, Whiskey captoes:

Mind blowing. My new unicorn. Ravello sortwing down, whiskey captoe bal to go!

edit: It also looks like you get as much time in the tanning beds/vacation in the south of France as much as I do

those should look great once you brush them...how's the fit? i've stayed away from barrie chukkas because the fit is supposedly sloppy.

I dont know if i'd say "sloppy". You're not as locked in across the vamp as a lace up but they are totally do-able.

I have a barrie chukka and two barrie boots (one cordovan on double leather, the other natural CXL on crepe). Compared to the boots, the chukka is looser in the heel, and very slightly larger in the forefoot. I still find the fit more than acceptable for normal wear, but would avoid the chukka if I had a lot of walking to do that particular day.

I have the shell rainbow in chukkas, all on the Barrie. Mine are not sloppy.
