I prefer machine stitched for the Indy. I feel ther should be a rugged utilitarian feel to the Indy boot and the machine stitching represents that to me.

i think you've got your idea of which one is hand stitched and machine stitched switched.

i personally love the contrast machine stitching for ls ultimate kudu indy though.

Man, I'm so glad my shell Indys are hand stitched.

Any good deals on #8 PTB's out there, aside from shady NRO?

tom austin had some before. not sure if they still got any. shoot them an email/ give them a call?

Was about to place another order with NRO before their 25% off sale ended, but I decided to call them first to see if they had my size. They were out of stock of my size in the unlined suede chukka, and they even called Alden but they didn't have any on hand either. Then they said it would be about 4-5 months for Alden to put it back into production and ship out my size.

I know it takes 12-18 months or longer for pre-orders of exotic shells and special makeups, but I didn't think it would take so long for a chukka that is usually stocked pretty regularly at most places. So, I'll hold off until their next sale and I'll see if those time frames change at all.

Hot damn that's a nice boot. Any chance of that being made again in the near-ish future?

That's what I'd like to know!

If you ever wondered how the hand stitched and machine stitched indy boots look side by side. Both are cigar.

Hand-stitch wins here, easily. Very nice lookin' boot.

10.5B? I didn't realize Alden made the 403 in a B width - was this special ordered or did they just happen to have it in stock? I have a 12C but a 12B would fit me better.

^ I actually just checked their website and they do have an option for a B width on the 403....I wish I would have known that when I got mine from Shoemart last year. TSM only offers C/D/E, but it looks like Alden SF now has B/C/D/E/EE/EEE widths. Did they always have so many width options of the 403?
