Me too. And J.Crew's lack of cordovan darker than #8.

That boot isn't coming in until Feb 2012, they got back to me... same with the Ravello boots.

Although, I do wish they also offered the all eyelets wingtip boot in #8.

do you feel like the leather stretches over time? so that it feels bigger than when you first tried the boots?

Wow those have held up remarkably well! How many time have you worn them, would youe stimate? What do you do to take care of em?

For the first year , I wore them every other day. since they where my only pair of Aldens. Now they get worn twice a week. I just sprayed them when I first got them and brush them after wearing.

Have you tried Alden DC? On my last several visits they have stocked Color 8, black and (oftentimes) Cigar cap toe boots on the Grant.

can't believe its sold out?....that J Crew black wingtip boot looks so totally 'flat'. on a barrie last which is supposed to be 'fuller' it just looks off.

thanks for the tip Horsehide. I'm looking for some cigar captoes in Grant, so going to send them an email to enquire. Unless anyone wants to part with yours...I'm 10.5 in barrie, so prob an 11 in grant.

^ Many people take the same size on the Grant as on the Barrie (I'm one of them). Fair warning. If you can try them on first, I'd recommend that. The Grant can be tricky to size.
