Do you have 7 different systems or do you have fewer "zoned" systems, i.e. with dampers?

My understanding is that granular of zoning doesn't actually provide much energy savings for most people. But 2.5 acres without much landscaping (which I hope means limited maintenance and lawn mowing) sounds lovely.

It’s Santa Fe. Landscaping is usually rocks and cacti, sometimes a small patch of lawn out front.

This is what I want. Hardscape, natural landscaping, quasi-cottage garden, forested front yard. Anything low-maintenance. Maybe a little patch of grass in the backyard for dogs/kids.

I get ribbing here about all the travertine in the backyard but damn is it easy to care for. ;)

Ah yes, 2.5 acres of Pinon Pine trees (the State Tree), Juniper bush/trees, Santa Fe and tree Cholla all natural. Just a small area off the patio with drip irrigation and shrubs and a few Aspens near the house. I love not having grass. Just flushing the drip system before winter and thats about it.

The sound of quaking aspens is one of the most relaxing sounds to me.

For A/C, there are 7 different systems flush with the ceiling in the roof with one in each of the main rooms. They each have a separate thermostat wall control. For radiant heat each zone has its own control. Not sure what to expect if we turn off a guest room and the temps drop down to single digits.(Maybe an ice rinks??) But, will find out in 6 months....if we get the house. Still waiting for the reply to the offer.

Are they separate loops off a central hydronic source or completely separate systems?
