Don't ever buy your own boat. For the same money you could do a couple weeks of crewed charter every year until you are too old to enjoy it and never have to ******* fix anything, which is about all you do if you have your own boat.

Very familiar with the pitfalls of boat ownership having grown up surrounded by the world's largest concentration of fresh water. I'm talking about solving the problem raised here, namely, where do you live after selling your house? I think I've a decade in me of live aboard, sailing the world. Mrs. Piob is of a differing opinion.

Yes that could be lonely. You could always advertise in the yachting publications for a "first mate." It worked for my father-in-law.

Sailing around the world, there are going to be plenty of places to dump your body, so that's not a problem if she doesn't want it to be.

Piob hasn't mentioned the cost of the satellite internet connection required to maintain his current posting rate. This is how I know he's not serious about the catamaran idea.

I watch a few "cruiser" channels on YT and there's new solutions.

If you want to watch a very long term channel, and it's really interesting to watch from the beginning to see a huge evolution/journey, it's S.V. Delos. From the low quality video, pretty much non-scripted first eps to the high quality, fairly scripted eps of today coupled with the stories of the various folks it's quite a saga.

🤷‍♂️

Wow. Not only is this a higher peak from the 2008 housing bubble (as we'd expect since there should be at least some appreciation), but the slope of that line leading in to where we are now is even steeper than heading in to 2008. Maybe fewer ARMs in a period of rising rates to serve as the first pin prick, but it's hard to believe those prices are sustainable.

Non-swinger shower setup today. 😞

House is cool though. Poolside pizza oven and fire pit (unclear on glass provenance).

Going on the short list.
