Exposed pipes are aesthetic. Bow to the taste master.

At the end of the evening everyone just walked home. This neighborhood is like when I was kid in the '70s and neighbors actually did things together and hung out. We love it.
key party?

After you all shamed me for spending $500 to fix a toilet I am being cautious about getting any work done... I am finally regrouting my shower tile and recaulking the tub. Gus said he got a lot done for like ~$300. I got a quote (after I sent pictures) for $650. Maybe a bit high? I am thinking it might be worth it to just pull the trigger because the other services all want to come in and look for an estimate and I really don't want to stay home from work just to let somebody in.

Caulking and grouting to a lesser extent are simple processes but require a bit of a "knack" that is acquired. Unless you want the practice or can't afford it, I think paying a pro is a wise choice. Especially in light of that post demonstrating your painting skills.

Just do it. $650 is a night for you at a NYC martini bar.

I'm certainly not doing it myself, I just don't know if it is worth it to get another quote and have to take an extra day off work.

Everything inside a toilet can be removed and replaced in a grand total of about 20 mins with a parts price well under $50

Ok, so I should just pull the trigger on the $650 guy then? I don't understand your perspective. I never want to do anything myself, but at the same time I don't want to get screwed again.

How much were you looking to spend prior to the estimate? If it was within your head range then you should be fine.
