There is no mass maintenance of facebook friends option, so that would have taken an eternity. It was easier to just start fresh. I pulled a JSON backup of all my friends so I had their unique user ID's to easily re-add those I actually needed to find.
Also I had the same account since 2004 whenI was in college and figured I had all sorts of dumb college tomfoolery evidence there.
