Any chance you could take a picture of your self to the side, holding the bag by the handles? Thinking of getting the one on Tres bien, but I can't make out exactly how long the handles are.

Totally missed this. Will try to do tomorrow.

I agree. I have always liked Bleu de Chauffe but that one does look too much like the Mismo Day Pack. I say go for Bleu de Chauffe's leather bags - their waxed cotton offerings haven't been as interesting. You could also wait for sale time - I have seen Mismo stuff on sale by retailers but you will have to be quick.

thanks for your input ! I will follow your advice :)

That's very nice, and the company looks like they produce high qual stuffs.

I've a Timbuk2 Lex backpack. Top notch quality and loads of space!

The genuises at Timbuk2 in their infinite wisdom, discontinued it! Today, I still feel like I won the lottery.

Recommendations for a bag to carry my stuff to school?
It shouldn't be too big because most of the time I will just cary my laptop (13" vaio pro) and a few papers.
I don't really like the look of a messenger bag and a briefcase will look stupid because I'm still a student.
I quiet liked the look of this but it's rather expensive and noone else in my family liked it so I'm not sure about it.

Forgot: When walking around I want to carry it in my hand (prefer 2 handles) but I also need to take the bike to the train station so it should also have a shoulder strap.

I don't like it either. At that price, you might as well just buy their Utility bag. It's got more space, adjustable spacing at the sides, can be held at both the handles and it's got a strap.

I decided to postpone buying a bag as I currently don't have enough money to buy a nice one that I will really like. And I don't want to get something cheap that I won't really like.
I am going to buy this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/62855574/pack-smooch-macbook-13-air-sleeve so I can carry all the things I need for the moment (laptop, few sheets of paper, pen) and when I have enough money I can buy a nice bag and I will still be able to use this as a sleeve to protect my laptop in that bag.

Guys, I picked up this bridle leather tote from Jack Spade during a recent 30% off sale:

http://www.jackspade.com/bridle-lea...RU1753_color=200&cgid=bags#start=39&cgid=bags

The look of the tote is nice, as is the weight, but it is completely unlined. The construction is minimal, as you can see from the images.

I'd be using it for work to bring papers back and forth, and the occasional laptop. Any thoughts on the price/quality or Jack Spade in general? I've got to return it soon if it's a no go...

I had ordered the briefcase in that line (Jack Spade will take 20% off your first order if you just fill out a survey with them). I can't stand unlined leather and in this case it was not even smoothed by cutting the back side with a blade so it has that powdery texture that will shed and ultimately get leather dust into the nooks and crannies of your laptop. The organizer pockets are held with rivets in two points, not sewn, which means things can slip in between or get stuck. I found the quality so disappointing I returned it immediately. Andy Spade (Kate Spade's husband, there is no such person as Jack Spade) must be delusional: for that price, you can get significantly better, like Ghurka, Frank Clegg, Hard Graft and so on.

That must have been your review of the bag I read on the website :)

I was also disappointed in the interior quality. Though, to be fair, Frank Clegg charges about the same price, and his bags are also unlined, and don't contain pockets. Granted, the workmanship is probably better overall...
