It's a bipartisan threat to the very foundations of democracy:

I own several AE dress sneakers, but they are worn with extremely casual attire and worn to casual events (drinking beer and shooting pool).

This guy is wearing a tie....

I vaguely remember you getting those rare Alden longwings. What color is that shell -- Ravello? It seemed like you disappeared from the boards after those became part of your collection.

BTW, it's your fault I own a pair of natural cxl 9501 shoes.
They are whiskey. A year or two back I had the chance at some Ravello PTBs but i didn’t care for the pieces of shell used. They were kind of bumpy on the toes. Not shaved well enough? Have yet to hear back from Alden SF on another pair…

Wearing mine today. I replaced the laces and the ones Alden sent me are a little darker. Still prefer the originals.

I’m in the office for three days of training. One more day of sartorial self expression left.

...I wear my dress shoes and boots to play pool in. The other day, people were complimenting my Broadstreets when I was at the table.

I also wore mine this morning. Spilled some water on them, but no big deal.

They still do but it's been significantly diminished since their primary demo was probably a student or a kid getting his first bit of tailoring, whereas nowadays a guy will postpone this little rite of passage until he is a 33 year old slob getting married, at which point he probably has the means and knowledge to go someplace other than where his mom takes him (hopefully).

In their prime, their in-house Stafford brand was humongous bang for buck. It was often a stiff fused jacket made from uninspired materials, but at least 100% wool and really no worse than what people were buying from MWH/JAB, at half the price. Plus, the fit was just bang on for me specifically. It was peak #menswear times and I was just emerging from the nightmare that was my PhD, completely broke and needing something other than the rotten gym clothes I had been wearing every day under my lab coat. This fit the bill, along with a few CT shirts, 3 for $99, some $60 gray flannel trousers when Lands' End of all places was the only RTW option, and of course my walnut Strands + matching belt that I got the day before my student ID expired forever, because Paul Grangaard told me to. Bought with 3 benjamins clutched in my sweaty trembling fingers, the biggest non-car/electronics purchase of my entire life. Joe Dappered would absolutely approve. Heady days!!

Their Stafford jackets are still decent for a very entry level jacket. They're flattering and don't look cheap if you have the body type for them.

As you said: It is a good chance to look like a grown up on a very limited budget, so ideal for men just entering the work force out of school and the like.

JC Penney also has a lot of sizes that cater to big/tall men.

The last time I stepped into a JC Penneys was a few months ago. Actually: Twice in the last few months. Surprised to find Penneys in Dublin, so I went in curiously (and saw how similar it was to the American store) and then again nearby to pick up some boxer and athletic shorts. They still have a fairly large selection of men's jackets, shirts, etc.

Meanwhile, over in the Senate, some have moved past dress sneakers directly to hoodies and shorts. :(

Admittedly, didn't Sen. Fetterman recently recover from a stint in Walter Reed due to a mental health crisis and had a stroke last year?

I'll give this guy a pass given the personal circumstances, politics aside.

All true, however, I have also seen him in a suit since being elected. So it seems he is making a choice. No aspersions on either political party, but it appears he can dress more appropriately for the position when he chooses.
