I'm in need of a decent, slim fitting suit and am having a ton of trouble finding anything that fits even close to properly. I'm 5'8 140lbs and am proportioned like a tall man (think Jared Leto/Ryan Seacrest shape), and am looking for suggestions.

Measurements:
Neck - 14-14.5
Chest - 36
Waist - 28-29
Inseam - 31

That should give a rough idea of what I need. Am I going to have any luck whatsoever at any retailer or should I give up looking and go made to measure? (Keep in mind that I'm a student, and don't want to pay much more than 500-700 if at all possible.) Any help would be much appreciated.

Two SFers come to mind:

Get Smart at Thick as Thieves. His suits are high quality, reasonably priced made to measure.

Jonathan at Four In Hand Ties. I believe he posts here as FIHTies. He specializes in smaller sizes.

I am of almost identical size and I recently found that Canali 36R fit me decently OTR. I added surgeon cuffs and additional waist suppression, but the shoulders and trousers fit great without alteration.

Ralph Lauren Black Label 36R's are also very slim. You would need to find it on sale for it to fit into your price range though.
