I'm dead serious.

I can't imagine lightweight wool, cotton or linen pants being uncomfortably hot, even in 100 degree weather. But if I absolutely needed relief from long pants, I'd do it with style:

But you and other likeminded members still aren't answering why it's WRONG to wear shorts in a casual outfit.

It's not wrong. It's just not stylish. Which is perfectly fine.

It's 100 degrees out here today. 115 when you factor in humidity.

Worst heat wave in decades. Sure, when you get off work you may go outside in a pair of jeans. You may even consider yourself "stylish".

But the other 99.9% of the people outside sweating it out in shorts are going to calling you an idiot.

The Outgames (think gay olympics) are currently being held in montreal. I've seen quite a few men in capris....

If you`re looking for swim wear, I think all the designer brands have a small selection. Also, makers like Borrelli, Loro Piana, etc have high quality offerings.

Do you own the shoes in your avatar? Pics please! :p

Jeans are not stylish either.

Oh God. Now there's something wrong with jeans, too. Nothing but a suit can be stylish!

I bought two pairs of shorts I consider stylish this year.

The first are lightweight flat-front khaki cotton ones from Edun with front pockets that button shut. They are not cargoes - the GF hates them! - but they have a convenient back-hip welted pocket that's the right size for a cellphone. I could not find a picture of them online.

The second are cotton flat-front POW check "walk shorts" from J. Press.

ZegnaSport also has well-cut, albeit wildly overpriced, shorts.

Shorts I will wear, but sandals/flip flops leave me cold. Sneakers or loafers (usually JMW 180s) are my standard wear-with-shorts shoes, though last time I wore shorts (the aforementioned Press POW check ones) I wore them with Banana Republic loafer socks and those recently clearanced Peal double-strap monk wingtip spectators from Brooks.
