Those aren't mine, I'm not really a baseball cap kind of guy. That photo was taken by Gary Drinkwater - I don't think he ordered any for his store this season, but he might be able to secure one for you if you give him a call. (His store is in Boston as well, btw).

I remember a few months ago someone posted that the Engineered Garments caps were actually made by some old-school hat-making place, and they posted a link to the place's website (which had a number of cool hats).

I tried to find the link but couldn't find it buried in one of those EG threads. anyone have this?

Are you thinking of the Hat People? http://www.hatpeople.com/

I'm not sure if they made those fisherman hats above though.

Thanks for the replies so far, guys.

Those Brixton hats look very cool, as does their other stuff (most of which is not in my size- XXL, unfortunately).

The pictures on the ballcap and hatpeople sites are so bad as to be useless. I have no idea of what these hats actually look like. How can a company present themselves like that? It's too bad, because it looks like a quality product.

A lot of these better caps are wool, which are OK for the winter, but I'll mostly need a cotton one for the summer. I also like cotton because I can wash it a bunch of times and it will still look good.

I am leaning toward this general style:

but the color, logo, and $85 price are turn-offs.

Thanks for the suggestions, and keep 'em coming.

I don't have a hat from Ebbet's, but the stuff I've seen in their shop is top notch.

If you click 'Cap Photos' at ballcaps.com, you'll get actual photos of the product.

The one Brixton hat I have was inexpensive and seems to be decent quality - you might want to check those out.

I am in love with this Mr. Olive that just arrived. It is wool and I wouldn't recommend it for 90 degree plus heat, but with the mesh it could be worn most of the year. I just put it on our site today. Maybe not the price you are looking for, but stylish none-the-less.

Man. I'm still stuck. This shouldn't be this hard. I've looked everywhere recommended here, and about 100 other places, and haven't found the right one.

I can't find anything that:

is primarily cotton;
has no logos;
is a fitted size, not "one size fits most";
isn't a big, deep profile.

I like the lower profile designs, or at least not big and round. I also like the "unstructured" type, although that's not a must.

I saw one that was pretty cool, except that it was a Prada (yuck), nylon, and $285 (f- you!).

So c'mon, guys. You guys are the masters! Let's have more suggestions! There must be something other than New Era. (Violates my logos rule).

Thanks!

Thanks, Steven

Unfortunately, it seems like hardly anything they make looks at all like a baseball cap, and definitely not that would meet my criteria.

For reference, the New Era 39-30 is pretty close to what I have in mind, shape wise. It's just plastered with logos and isn't available in my size. Other than that, the style looks pretty good: subtle, unstructured, cotton, low profile.

Megabump--

I'm wondering, is there a site out there that has a wide selection of japanese league baseball hats? Google turns up a couple sites but the selection doesn't seem that varied. Wondering if I'm missing a key site or just somehow not looking in the right places. While a fitted cap would be great I'm not going to be picky in this situation. Basically want an alternative to my Dodger hat on occasion so marsupialed Angels fans stop giving me dirty looks.
