Mods is there any way to ban a user from one specific thread? Just curious -- no particular reason.

Why? Ter’s posts have been fine.

Do you guys use anything special to season? Just regular salt, pepper, sea salt?

This is my absolute go to(and my local butcher shop):

True story, way back when I was in the military..... When you moved to a new place, you got a sponsor who would show you around, etc. My sponsor at one duty station invited me over for dinner. When I got there there, there was a large pot of water boiling on the stove, so i thought we were having pasta. Then he pulled out the thinnest steaks I had ever seen from the fridge, unwrapped them, and bloop, into the boiling water. After what seemed like an eternity, he pulled the steaks out of the water and placed them on a serving platter (no sear)... not what I would call delicious.

Boiled meat needs to be real thin ie. shabu shabu.

Many questions. But among the most pressing: what is that knife doing given the context of the rest of the picture? Is it simply a prop?

The meat is of such high quality that it cuts like butter. No need for a proper steak knife.

Going to House of Prime Rib for the first time tomorrow. For the veterans here, what are the musts or conversely what are the 'do not pass go, do not collect $200' moves that I need to avoid?
It seems like we will be working within a narrow band anyway but want to make sure to optimize the experience.
