I have a couple shirts (pink, light blue check, lavender) that I have yet to wear that I just got back from the tailor. Is it too late for these or are they acceptable until Fall?

All are acceptable. Just make sure not to wear Linen or Seersucker suits because now it is past Labor Day. Those colors paired with a gray or charcoal suit would work well.

incidentally, I saw a gentleman in a full seersucker ensamble (suit & tie, seersucker hatband even) on the T this morning. I had to admire his robust disregard for the Rules.

Sweet. Thanks. I work in a business casual environment so unfortunately, I couldn't wear suits even if I wanted to without looking like a jackass.. but needless to say, it should work well with some odd trousers.

All fine colours.

As mrchapel says, just steer clear of linen, seersucker and, yes, white shoes! Unless your local weather is still very hot, in which case, I sort of feel you're allowed to bend the rules since it's still Summer weather!

Quite honestly the white after Labor Day and the whole other nine yards doesn't faze me whatsoever. I think rules are made to be broken; style, to my mind, is not decided by arbitrary regulations made up by god-knows-who. I have read and heard from a lot of people in the industry that wearing white after Labor Day attracts attention of the good kind. That said, I don't wear seersucker in the winter because I can honestly get a bit cold in it, and I also don't wear really vibrant colors, other than white, in any season. But at least in principle I have no problem flaunting my blatant disregard for the rules.

It's still 100+ in So Cal so the weather still permits linen, seersucker and white shoes post Labor Day. It'll probably be "appropriate" until daylight savings time changes end of Oct which is when you start to notice a shift towads tad cooler weather and earlier eves.

on topic, I wear pink and lavender shirts all year round.
