Not tight or uncomfortable, I've found the J Crew Ludlow to be the style and fit that works best for me and my price range, usually I buy a 38s and have it taken in slightly, this is a 36s and feels nice. I decided to give it a try (sizing down) based on the dimensions given in the listing. Length-wise it doesn't look too short? That was the only measurement that I was really concerned about. If this is a size smaller it doesn't look it to me. At least from the shots presented. Is it tight or uncomfortable?
Not quite sure about the back. Looking at this photo I'm curious about the wrinkles, whether that has to do with sizing or other variables (shirt fits a bit loose so a little extra fabric in the back, and the jacket is unlined silk/linen blend so very little structure to it. It is second hand so there's a chance it may have been tailored for the previous owner too, though looking at the inside I don't think that's the case) or if it's indeed too small/tight.I think those Ludlows tend to be somewhat short period. I have some linen ones from a few years back that I stopped wearing for various fit reasons.
Does it seem low in the back? Is it like half way up your butt?
Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I just saw there's a dedicated "fit check" thread on here, I'll give that a try as well and see if anyone can confirm what's going on in the back. I'm fine with the Ludlow's somewhat shorter (and slimmer) dimensions, but I know it's already kinda pushing the limits between "modern" and "too small". ?Definitely looks like there might be some bunching in the back, possibly from sizing. The length is probably about what you'll find in Ludlows - they are more "modern" aka "short".
For sure looked like a better fit from the front. I am not a tailor and can't advise on fixing.
