and took a picture.

Impressions:

1. I was wrong about the jackets being cut in a way which would work for a lot of people. They are actually cut very trim.

2. I would feel way too self conscious wearing them, with their strong shoulders and flashy detailing.

3. I have no clue what went wrong with Avarice Bespoke's suit. His looked very sacky, while straight off the rack, there is a lot of shape and waist suppression.

Anyway, I was not a fan, but not bad.

Is the button hole on the lapel really long? It looks massive.

I agree. To me it is too FU to be wearable, but the fit was not bad.

Everything on it is very exaggerated, including the buttonhole.

Agree that's not a bad fit. The shape certainly appears to be there.

Did the SA also tell you that the TF looked better than what you were wearing when you came in??

The long lapel buttonhole is a Savile Rowism. Manton mentioned (that's him standing off camera to the left) that TF tries to ape SR bespoke detailing. The shoulder seams are also way swept back like an SR coat. But the coat's short front balance gives away its OTRness.

In real life I thought the suit looked goofy, like Matt was wearing someone else's suit.

In that it fits fine, esp. considering it's ready to wear... but just looks ridiculous when looking in the mirror. I didn't think it was excessively trim through the body though, myself. More, just about right in terms of the suppression, etc. I have a pretty standard drop (about 6-7").

I don't think it's so much that it requires a certain physique to wear it well, more a certain style of dressing to cope with its idiosyncratic styling. I consider myself a moderately flashy dresser at times, and I couldn't tame it.

The shoulders are really crazy. They just stand out so conspicuously.

I tried on a coat one size larger, and it was surprisingly well balanced on me (very rare for RTW, Kiton, for instance, was extremely short in the back) but I hated the way it looked.

Agree. When I tried OTR the body was much like yours until the tailor started hacking away

there are other models where the shoulders are not as loud and the lapels are closer to the normal size

Those are some aggressive shoulders and lapels. Kinda menacing.

Gives off such a different impression than the softer Italian stuff.
