So I don't want to pay $16 a pair for underwear, what are my alternatives?

If you have a sewing machine you can easily tailor your boxers yourself and since they are never seen it doesn't really matter if your cuts are asymetrical.

the man has a point.... if you want 'em cheap I've seen Calvin Klein, Polo, 2(x)ist, Hilfiger etc. boxers, briefs whatever as cheap as $5/ 3 pr. Go to it!
