Slim Lapel with Classic-Width Tie

My jackets are 36R. Speaking in terms of my proportions - I have a 28 waist with wide shoulders, as sort of a "V" shape.

I prefer classic-width ties, 3.5" wide. However, most of my lapels on jackets are 2.5" wide. Is this a horrendous idea to break from the matching of lapel to tie width? Just something I've preferred, but if it looks foolish I'd like to know.

Thanks!

why dont you just upgrade your jacket instead? might cost more but would work better in the long run isnt it?
a higher gouge and wider lapels will make you look more "V" as you might call it.
oh but to answer the question it would really depends on the proportion on your body with the ties, why not try wearing it see if it works. but imo should just get a wider lapel jackets, cause rarely does this ties and slim lapels work.
