Diego, I'm okay with a captoe, midnight navy calf upper. Dark burgundy anything (suede, smooth calf, grained calf) shaft.

And let's get our terms right so we're all on the same page - the "upper" is what covers your foot, the "shaft" is what covers your ankle and lower shin.

I'm not really into wild coloured lining, but it's not something I'm going to fuss about if others are really keen.

@Dieg0

Can you or someone mock up that boot with navy upper and burgundy shaft?

I highly recommend the two leathers be different (i.e. not both smooth calf), so perhaps a burgundy grain or suede. It looks way better like that, but this ain't my MTO :)

Just noticed the great prices on Carminas irrespective of sales. There must be a catch here on the States side, yes? Duties usually applied? But the conversion prices are as good as any sale price here in the US. Plus great selection.

What am I missing?

The catch is you get great service to go along with the great prices.  Shhhh... don't let anybody know that I told you.

+1

Very very unlikely duties if you choose USPS route. Catch for me is I order brown shoes but somehow every shoe I actually receive is green

Well, I guess I've found my new Carmina source.

Quick feedback on Rain vs Forest. Rain fits perfectly snug for me in 9US (I size up 1/2 size for Simpson). Stay 9 for Forest, though expect a little more wiggle room?

Forest is a narrower fit than Rain over the instep and through the forefoot. It is only roomier in the toe box. Contact the peeps at Skoak for specific sizing advice.

Might be risky. Some people size up from Rain to Forest, especially if Rain is snug. Here's my size reference (notice, I have wide-ish feet). Please feel free to e-mail us for specific fitting advise. [email protected]

Carmina
Carmina Rain: UK 11 - very good fit, the best of all the Carmina lasts for me
Carmina Soller: UK 11 - slight heel slippage
Carmina Detroit: UK 11
Carmina Inca: UK 11.5
Carmina Forest: UK 11.5 - good fit although the instep could be a little roomier for a great fit
Carmina Simpson: Could probably squeeze into a UK 11.5 or UK 12 but in all honesty, not a good last for me, I avoid it because of my wide-ish feet and high instep

Edward Green
184 - UK 11.5 E
202 - UK 11.5 F - bordering on E
606 - UK 11.5 F - bordering on E
82 - UK 11.5 F - great fit for me, best of all EG lasts
888 - UK 11.5 F

Gaziano & Girling
KN14 - UK 11.5 F
MH71 - UK 11.5 F - my favorite G&G last both style wise and in fit
GG06 - UK 11.5 F
DG70- UK 11.5 F
TG73 - UK 12 F - not an optimal fit for me personally

Patrick,

Just picked this one up. Guess I was right to wait to see if there was a Black Friday promotion! Thanks, and looking forward to my first Skoak purchase!

Great, glad to be of help!

I take the same size in rain and forest but the rain last definitely feels a touch longer. Forest is a bit tighter over the instep, which is preferable for me anyways.
