I know that a gentleman should never show his legs. Especially this gentleman.

But sometimes it gets so hot you have little choice - especially if you are moving about.

I want to get some stylish shorts.

I think I have seen some Brioni ones.

At the risk of permanent banishment I would like to know if any of you have other suggestions of that type?

Are we really stuck with rules from 80 years ago? Are we not a free people? If they lived with popular "rules" of their day and age are we really slaves of the past. They were not slaves of a previous time. Why would adults want to live in the pretend world. We should live in the present world.

I have a few nautica shorts I like, 8" inseam. On a short guy like me, that hits right above the knee. Lands end, LL Bean- just look at all the usual suspects. Or just cut and hem an old pair of chinos to your preference. Brioni just seems stupidly excessive for shorts.

Keep 'em simple and clean in design, and shorts are just fine in casual circumstances. From what I know of the weather in Sidney, I'd have to think they would be an utter necessity in summer.

Shorts or cut off jeans are fine and there is absolutely no reason why you cannot wear them
