So I recently purchased a Brioni suit at BG for a $2700 and change. Something about the silky fabric and glove like fit seduced me! That being said, I look back and think "damn I paid too much".

I'm curious as to other forumites experiences and missteps.

I have around 60 pair of designer shoes. Gucci, Prada, Dior, etc. I hardly wear three of them regularly. The others just sit inside the boxes craving for freedom. A lot are even brand new.

But the biggest impulse buy was an Enrico Mandeli leather coat with fur lining. Really nice item but not for me!

I'd return the suit if you can, and I'd sell the shoes on eBay - you'll make enough money to buy some really nice shoes that really suit you.

I thought one of my mistakes was buying a tweed suit. It fitted nicely, but it was too 'country' even to wear in one of our provincial offices, and I rarely wear a suit outside of work. However, I've recently taken to wearing the jacket alone with trousers and it's gained a number of complements.

Too many pairs of cheap shoes from when I was still learning - the days when I thought anything with a leather soles was 'quality'....

Again, the shirts I brought when I thought I was a 16" collar. I had to throw out (should have eBayed...) loads of Pink, T&A, Lewin etc. My brother was a 16.5" at the time, and he was quite upset when he got down to a 16" within a couple of months to find he'd missed them all.

Too many things I've brought because I was caught up in the moment in the store - I purchased a pair of Moschino jeans this afternoon when I was out for something more mundane, and was then made to take them back once my wife saw them. She let me keep the Hawiian shirt though

wait...you paid 2700 for a $3500+ Brioni suit at bergdorf goodman, and feel you paid too much? Let's see photos of you in the suit. Admittedly, i'm a big fan of brioni (and a very recent first time customer of bergdorf's exclusive brioni cut: softer shoulders, higher set sleeves) but I'm thinking you got a top shelf suit for a good deal.....

I see Brioni suits at Ehabadasher and ebay for significantly less. I wonder if the purchase was so wise.

Are not all Brioni suits created equal? I didn't know BG had an "exclusive" cut.
