Just received some new made in England shoes (rebranded Loake 1880) which seem to suffer from some strange "cellulite" effect in the leather, see pics. This effect is only visible when the leather is bent a bit, like it consists out of multiple layers and the top layer gets separated from the lower layer when bent.
I was wondering what causes this and if this is a sign of bad quality leather?
