Hello all,
First post but have been lurking for a little while, and the advice and recommendations on here have helped lead me to having a suit made in a Donegal tweed, Porther & Harding reference number 62258 (thank you very much, all):

As it's my first suit I've ever had made, I like it a lot, but I have to admit - I am struggling to find shoes to go with it.
The tweed colour is not really brown, not really grey, not really any one particular colour really... so finding shoes that either complement or contrast it nicely has been difficult.
I've been looking at the Loake Drake Derby because I live in an area with limited high-end shops and I'm also pretty fussy when it comes to finding something I like, and these are pretty much the only thing I liked shape-wise that also didn't have a 'cheap' rubber sole. If I'm buying shoes, I want them to last (i,e, be able to be re-soled):

I have bought the dark brown version and looked at them at home with the suit on, but I'm concerned they are too dark and don't pick out any of the colours in the tweed. On the other hand, the light brown version might be too light and also not pick out any of the colours.
I was therefore wondering if I should go with something like a mid- or dark-blue shoe? Or perhaps a deep red shoe? Something that is obviously a contrast rather than trying to blend with the suit.
I've had a look at the recommended shoes thread:

and I really am only attracted to the simple Derby designs - either that or shoes in suede, which reallly is not practical for everyday, all-weather wear...

Any and all recommendations would be very gratefully received indeed, as I am aware that my inexperience means I may well not be aware of all the options and/or be suggesting some incredibly poor choices.
