I'm searching for shoes under $300, would really like to keep that closer to $200 though, that I can wear both to work and after work. At the moment I'm a college student but will be graduating in May, and thus the need to boost my clothing needs. I have been looking at Allen Edmunds McTavish in either the cognac leather or the natural wax infused colors but the more I think about it the more I think they will be hard to match with things since, at least from the pictures they are on the lighter side. I've heard burgundy is a good color to look for in a shoe but I have not been able to find the color in my price range. It seems like most burgundy shoes are either relatively cheap or very expensive. I have not had too much time to look and research as I'm working on my thesis at the moment and won't have much time for the next few months but I would like to get these shoes sooner rather than later in order to break them in and such.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

If it's going to be the first or only pair of good dress shoes, choose black. Allen Edmonds would be a good choice, if it fits well. Try on before buying.
