I bought this shirt in the smallest neck size:

http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/x6.aspx...xgn&SO=0&PSO=0

it comes in two different sleeve lengths: 32/33 & 34/35. I bought the longer sleeves because i am a taller guy, but the shirt is too wide in the chest/torso. If I buy the one with shorter sleeves, will the overall size of the shirt be smaller, especially the width of the chest? or will it be the same shirt just with shorter sleeves.

thanks

The torso will almost certainly be the same; the sleeves will just be 2" shorter. You probably want one with a "slim," "tailored," or "modern" fit. Maybe they have them, maybe they don't.

Anyway, there's a whole wide world of much better shirts out there. Lots of good info here if you look for it.

Any suggestions? I need a white long sleeve shirt and i want them to be a polyester blend to prevent wrinkles. The linked one is the smallest size and "fitted" yet it is still too big on me. It's only $20 and I would like them to be cheap because I'm planning on buying 6 or more for work.

Welcome to the problem with men's shirts. Especially when you are tall. If you don't want to spend the money get the sides taken in by a tailor. If you want to do it right get custom shirts, but they won't be $20.

Probably not significantly. If you don't like the torso, you need to buy a shirt that's more slim fitting.

You WANT a polyester blend? Well then my friend, walk in to any store and enjoy the plethora of offerings. One will probably fit just fine.

Forget polyester, you can get 'no iron' shirts if you really want but buying polyester to 'prevent wrinkles' makes no sense.

And no, the one with shorter sleeves will not be any smaller in the body. If you really can't find shirts small enough in RTW then you might to go made to measure. This will cost you a bit more than $20 depending on the fabric but the fit will probably be worth it. Or you could buy RTW then have it altered, but you'll probably spend just as much and end up with a shirt that still doesn't fit as well.
