Hello chaps,

I'm currently looking for a brown suede loafer and torn between the following two:

https://www.shipton.com/fleet-mens-suede-monk-shoe.html

https://www.shipton.com/dart-mens-suede-tassel-loafer.html

Leaning towards the single monk (size 6, so "double" looks hideous on me) and had a pair of the same in Loakes before but they seem to have stopped making them. But, the tassel seems a little more versatile for the summer wearing with chino shorts.

After speaking with the company, they said that they are both made in their Spanish factory. I can't seem to find any reviews online or comments regarding the build quality etc. Any advice would be really great.

The website has a 15% sale that ends today.

PS. The Loake Eton has peaked my interest too.

I like the monks, tassels are definitely not my thing. But when it comes to shorts, I wouldn’t wear anything but sneakers. :thumbs-up:

Thank you for the reply. The only thing I'm concerned about is that it has gold buckles. I'd much prefer silver.

Ah, I love a pair of shorts, oxford button down shirt and suede loafers.

This is like a three strike I don’t like shorts, monk straps, or tassel loafers

But if you must wear shorts go with boat shoes
