Let's take it as a given that clothing and shoes made in theUS, Western Europe, Japan and Hong Kong tend to be of higher quality than those made in the developed world. What other country's garment manufacturig do you trust? Korea? Romania? Turkey? Dominican Republic?

I know a lot of company's go to Bangladesh, I just recently started a made to measure suit company and was doing a lot of research. Bangkok, Thailand has a lot of oversea's buss. as well. I ended up sticking to the States... I felt a little better keeping work here...

In my experience Malaysia is slightly preferable to being made in China. Brooks Brothers seems to outsource alot of their production to Malaysia.

Malaysia is a reasonably well off country by third world standards, incomes are much than in China or the Phillipines, so I imagine they have better working conditions and fewer sweatshops.

I don't think you get the same quality oversea's.. That does not mean that you can't find a nice suit from an oversea's co.. just probably not as good as something made in north America.. That is my opinion....

Wait, the US, Japan and Western Europe aren't developed countries?

I don't think you can trust any clothes based on national origin. Incotex has some nice pants made in Portugal and Romania. There is a lot of crappy "Made in Italy" stuff, etc.

Don't you believe it. There is a lot of extreme poor in Malaysia, worse than China sometimes.
