Okay, so there's this party that will be held in less than a week and I still don't know what to wear. Since the party is done mostly outdoors, I don't want to use a suit jacket or a blazer because it is really hot nowadays in my country. I decided to go with a sweater-shirt-tie combo.

Here's the lower part of the clothing that I will be using (Navy pants and dark brown shoes):

Right now, I'm confused with my upper clothing. My question is; what color sweater, shirt and tie would be the best to use?

Thanks in advance

I think it's a good option to wear sweater/shirt combo. The tie is optional, but you might not need it.

Anyway I prefer sweater/shirt combo than the classic one with a jacket, if you are going to a less formal party.

And you shouldn't worry much about the heat, it's always about choosing between jacket and sweater anyway.

Wearing just a shirt is so boring and common, so definitely wear a sweater!

What colour? My suggestion - with navy trousers I would combine a nice white or light blue dress shirt with a grey woollen sweater (V-neck or crew neck) And don't forget to wear your shirt collar tucked in your sweater.

Hope this will help you

Just wear a decent shirt, if it is hot and not especially formal neither tie nor sweater are needed.

Why would you want to wear a sweater if it's "really hot" outside??

Well, it's more a of a summer sweater, it's really thin.

Exactly what I thought on how wearing just a shirt is boring. Thanks!
Oh and the suggestion you made looks a lot like the picture I used on my first post. That is definitely going on my color options.

Any more color suggestions guys?

Oh and would it better to use a tie with the combo or not?

I think you can wear it both with or without tie, depends on the type of the party, your combo, or simply how do you feel to do it :)

Here are some suggestions more. Although some of them are with a jacket too, they look pretty nice so you can consider them.

Let us know what did you finally decide to wear :)
