@Baron I just looked up that Iquitos on Basenotes. I've never tried it. But looks like it's got the musk and leather to balance out the floral. I'll look for a sample of that. Do they still make it?

Iquitos is not especially hard to find. To my nose, this scent is very mossy and very aldehydic. It's also quite civety. To me, those facets are more prominent than the floral facets. I don't experience it as especially feminine, but I'm not the best judge of that, as I wear lots of feminine floral scents.

SOTD is Eau d'Hermès. I'm wearing an Hermès tie today with a brownish suit, so it felt appropriate.

I agree. I didn't mention the aldehydes but they're a prominent part of the scent, and I think it's the element that can make if feel old-fashioned, or feminine, to some people. The floral notes are pretty green, and there is a big kick of civet.

Iquitos is one of those fragrances I've never tried but is so well respected that I've almost blind-bought bottles in the past.

Today I'm wearing Bel Ami Vetiver. I have to say, I like this as much as the vintage Bel Ami.

FTR, I have to say honestly that I do not enjoy Iquitos very much at all. It's just too mossy for me.

I was wearing last night the wonderful and, in my opinion, often overlooked Gucci Pour Homme by Guy Robert. It has a style very similar to Guerlain Derby but with a lighter touch - drier and more elegant.

Today I'm wearing vintage Aamouage Dia Man.

LDDM by Tauer. Pretty happy i didn't blind buy this. It's nice but I think I prefer the drier scents by La Curie.

Is that the first Gucci PH from the 70s, with the moss? Must try that.

Today Divine LHomme de Couer. Date night scent tonight will be LHomme Sage.

vintage Moschino PH is my SOTE. Spicy leather.

This is another one I've never tried. I had the chance to buy a bottle for thirty bucks but at that point had no idea what it was about. Oh well . . .
