you might be able to get another 10% - 15% off if you find someone selling BB store credit. there was someone in B/S the other day with a bunch in huge amounts

agree its a good deal, the only comparable thing would be the Alden x J Crew Captoe cordovan boots which you can sometimes find in the $500 range when J Crew has a 20% off coupon (+ any discount you can find from people selling J Crew credit).

but I think the C&J is a better color (not as dark as the Alden #8), the Dainite sole makes the boot more versatile, and overall the C&J is more kickass than the Alden version.

said another way, these things flew off the shelves went they went on sale for $600

If this matters to you at all you could just do a MTO Rider in a different color leather. Also, if it matters to you Rider Boots are blake/rapid stitched whereas the C&J Peals are Goodyear. Blake/rapid is a much stronger construction, for RTW shoes at least because there is a no gemming to break down as there is with RTW goodyear welted shoes.

Also, Peal's lasts are kind of ho hum in my opinion...

For around $800-850 you can get the real hand made deal from Edward Green here:- http://www.edwardsofmanchester.co.uk...way-brown.html Sale price = 700 pound less VAT = 560 pound = around $810-850 per pair. Add to that a free pair of shoe trees and a $35.00 contribution to shipping and you have an additional saving of around $200 (the cost of a pair of boot trees at Skyvalet1) Sure, the Galways are brown, but they are pure class and it is $400 - $500 cheaper than Skyvalet1 in Washington and a toilet load cheaper than Leffot With the cash you save you could almost buy another Cordovan boot in any color you like!
