Remove suit jacket/sport coat when dining?

I leave it on.

I dress for indoor temperature anyway, so the heat (or cooler) is not much of an issue for me. If it`s extremely cold outside that I can`t stand the walk from the car to the restaurant, I would probably just wear a coat on top.

I usually take it off, because I had found it too constricting.

But I guess I'll have to leave it on now. Thanks for exposing me as a buffoon to myself, guys.

Basic rule of thumb,

it stays on,
unless the host or guest of honor removes his first,
then you are free to take your jacket off too.
