his charges are fairly minor, and if he's got a clean record, the punishment would probably be quite light, even if proven guilty.

the felony, on the other hand, is a much more serious thing to deal with. I hope it sticks.

Another update from NY1. Love the last sentence....


An argument on the subway this weekend got heated quickly, escalating to an all-out brawl.

The fight appeared to break out after 25-year-old Danay Howard insulted the clothing of 21-year-old Kevin Gil.

Amateur video of the incident was uploaded online.

Police say it happened just after 4 a.m. Saturday morning on a northbound F train in Manhattan.

They and two other people involved were arrested at the West 4th Street station.

Three of them now face charges of assault and disorderly conduct.

Howard is being charged with felony assault because she allegedly used a high heel shoe as a weapon.

edit: i thought she was holding her purse and hit the guy with her purse. No way did I believe that heels could be so ugly. But nope, she hit him with the heel, and the Slap of Justice sent one flying in one direction and the other in a different direction.

I also didn't realize it until I read the above article. She must have felt like a dope(well, you think she should have) spending the night in central booking.

That's not assault. That may be a part of the disorderly conduct charge.

my guess is the guy also didn't stick around to press charges, nor did the police on scene see the video (I'm guessing this because of the NYPD quoted as "investigating the video" when charges were already made at the scene.
