That's expensive for Rouget. Around here it's $6.99/lb


yeah, well, just think about how much farther those pooor little fish had to swim! actually, i think that's the first time i've seen rouget in la.

They said they've been getting them for a couple of weeks but almost never see them. I'll hopefully pick a couple up tomorrow.

+1. The produce on the east coast is horrendous, one must assume the fish are as well.


**** off, dickbag. Most of the mullet I have seen for sale on the east coast, on line at least, labels it as North African, which in France is known as Senegalese mullet. It isn't as good. Prawnco has it for 18/lb, which I imagine is the higher quality fish.

This seems right, because it's mostly marked as "Atlantic." Citarella and Lobster Place go out of their way to mark things "Mediterranean" if at all possible.
