Last.fm is similar but a tad more limited in terms of exploring new music. It does have more artists, however.

Excellent idea - but preferably go for the double whammy, pandora.fm

Out obscure? The ones I put were actually surprisingly well known compared to some of the stuff on my machine...lol P.s. I only recognize two-three of the bands you posted so...
