Because nothing captures all of American history better than a garment the average person has worn for just over half a century. Also, I get the 1791 reference but surprised he wasn't more blatant with 1776.

I had to look up events of 1791... for some reason I don't think it commemorates the premiere of Mozart's Magic Flute.

best part about explaining american history to someone from another country is telling them about the trail of tears and then bein like "oh yeah we put that guy on the $20 bill"

i was gonna order a pair of the glen beck denim but they stop at 32 inches. going down that is.
