If a shoe fits fine overall but the shoe opening is slightly too big (near the ankle), is there anything to do to tighten it up in that area? Here's a pic:
Thanks in advance!
Did anyone's Purdey boots come with shoe bags?
CJ dark brown Finsbury maiden voyage!
I think that you may need to try a different last. It may get a little better as your foot settles into the footbed but probably not enough to eliminate the gap. Some people with high arches can't fit in to some lasts that are for "normal" feet. Or, some people with flat feet have the converse problem.Anyone?
Tongue pad adhesive?Anyone?

Both mosy and mgrod need to find shoes/lasts that actually fit their width. Their ankles are swimming in there.
Try Italian brands.
Thanks!Gorgeous!!
As a side point it seems to me that you too have some extra room in the shoe opening near your ankle. Do you find that you are slipping a bit even though the shoe technically fits?
Thanks!
Honestly, I had never noticed that before or thought it to be an issue. I have terrible feet that are a bit wide and have high arches, so perhaps that's the reason. As far as fit, I also have a pair of Lonsdales and the only time I notice any "slip" in either is if I consciously think about whether its's happening as I walk. I find pairs are very comfortable. For what it's worth, I wear 10.5 US and both CJ's are 9.5E.
BeachBum, are you suggesting I should a wider last or perhaps a EE may help this ankle gap?
