Took my golf grain/dainite Lowndes on a rainy business trip to Italy just a few weeks ago and they performed great.

Your thinking for Parisian winters is commendable.

Congrats!

PCK1, or anyone for that matter, know if CJ makes another model in "Golf Grain" leather? I am not a big fan of the dubmonk, but the leather looks the nuts. TIA...

Last fall/winter season they produced both the Lowndes and the Monkton (single monk on 348 last) in the dark brown golf grain.

This year it seems they have discontinued the monkton version and only offer the Lowndes.

Unfortunately, I do not know...at least in the United States of any offerings, unless ofc you MTO.

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US! I'm a longtime reader but first time poster. I'm planning on buying the Lowndes in dark brown burnished calf. I know my size as I was able to try it on in NYC. I have a couple questions:

1) I see they're $585 from skyvalet. Is that a good price during the holiday season, or do you expect them to go lower?

2) I'm sure some of you have ordered from sky valet--has your experience been a good one with them?

3) what do you love most about C & J?

Thanks everyone!

Sorry, I haven't had a reply! Can anyone assist? Thank you!

I have the same shoes and once got a remark regarding the greasing in the toe-cap, refered to as a defect (inner cap being too short). Now I see yours, looking exactly the same. Any opinions here?

Has nothing to do with a defect in the shoes. More to do with the way your feet fit into the shoe based on that size, width, and last.

If your bespoke shoes crease in the toe cap, its a problem. It is not a big deal if your RTW shoes do.

The tan double-monk BBBF from C&J just came in. They're a little darker/orangish than I had hoped, but still look and feel great!

SV is nice to deal with. My experiences have been positive. $585 is a decent price.
