This sort of high-cut waistcoat is completely unacceptable with a tuxedo. People wear them all the time at proms and the like, but it is a most egregious error. The only type of waistcoat that should be worn with a tuxedo is a proper low-cut tuxedo waistcoat, e.g.:

Thank you for your response guys i know alot of you on here know what your talking about and something like this probably pains you to read but i was just genrally asking if it would be ok for my school prom its a school in the north east of england not a posh country club where the attire would be alot greater. Thank you all for your replys i have got what im wearing now already cost me alot of money so fingers crossed ill be alright

People only wear this sort of thing to prom because they're too young to know any better. I wore some awful stuff when I was that age, but I wish I'd had a resource like this forum to teach me the error of my ways back then. Why bother asking for opinions if you're just going to ignore them?

Also, when did people in England start calling it 'prom'?

You're attending some sort of secondary school function, and yet haven't grasped the use of punctuation? Namely, the period.
