I find that Flickr helps improve the quality of the photo. I wouldn't recommend photobucket though, they really do downgrade the IQ.

Click for larger version.

How are you guys able to embed full size pics ? I click the add pic icon, a pop up box opens and I enter the URL there. Thereafter it shows a small pic which when clicked opens as a big pic.

just use this extension instead:
the mods set it up where its automatically resized to a small size. but the old system (and other forums) use this direct image address extension which yields the larger images.

Full moon on the 12, the harvest moon. I got a great location for this and if all goes well I'll enter a shot or two in the 2012 Windland Exhibition contest.

I find the bridge in the background somewhat distracting...maybe the second one, with the top of the image cropped a bit?

First one, the little ball doesn't really add to the scene. And +1 on the bridge, although you could increase the exposure for the bridge a little.

Thanks, Guys! Really appreciate the feedback. I was also not sure if the bridge or that little ball was adding anything to the shot. I really have to work on my composition.

I use an external service (ImageShack).

This! Most use Flickr I guess, ImageShack or whatever service might be just as good. You usually get a code for forums there with options for different sizes of preview pictures.

Thanks for your help. I am still unable to figure it out.

I use minus.com and it gives me these options

1. Forum code -

2. Direct Link - http://i.minus.com/i3NhPjcJHN5My.JPG

3. HTML code - <a target="_blank" href="http://min.us/l3NhPjcJHN5My"><img src="http://i.minus.com/j3NhPjcJHN5My.JPG" border="0"/></a>

So which one should I put inside the tags. I guess Lawrence meant hyperlink of the pic rather than the the IP address of the pic. So putting http://i.minus.com/i3NhPjcJHN5My.JPG inside [img] should work but it doesnt

I put this http://i.minus.com/i3NhPjcJHN5My.JPG the image address

in-between this

ah ok i see the problem your image hosting site doesn't really offer different url codes for various sizes. only a smaller 500pix size and the original gigantic size. flickr has the different sizes options you can use with the direct link.

Minus:

Image link pasted in image pop up:

Direct link posted, directly in (plan text) post box (without pop up, no image tags):

Not my pic, and image will delete itself in 30 days.

You hit the nail on the head. IMO composition and a thorough understanding of light is what defines a good photographer. Again it's not about if you're a photoshop guru or have the finest equipment money can buy. All these things are is tools of the trade. If you use them as a crutch to "fix" your bad shots just remember garbage in is still garbage out.

Couple from today. Was homecoming I should have taken more photos of just the football game but it's kind of hard to when you only have 50mm of reach.
