Poor taste to get 2nd marriage in same Tux?

Get a new one. The Tux you have didn't bring you any luck the first time around. Make sure to have the legal paperwork straight.
IF you were going to marry your first wife again, it might be nostalgic, as VOX has mentioned. But if that first marriage was 25 years ago and you still fit into you old Tux and the wife needs a new dress because she grew out of her original dress, than I'd suggest to get a new tuxedo, too.

Yup, Just adding to my collection of wives. I think to keep them in a big glass case over the mantle. Really impresses my visitors :)

But I doubt that CK got married in evening clothes (the first time, that is -- I believe we've already discussed his second time lapel-less sportscoat).

I admire men who double their misery.

Well done.

more interesting question imo:

is it ok to buy a diamond from a failed marriage to give to your fiance?

NO.

I had a cursed ring. It was actually my Grandmother's, so it was a heirloom. Diamond went into fiance' #1's ring. End badly. Diamond went back into antique ring, ring was restored and put on wife #1's finger. Marriage ended badly.

Ring sold on E-Bay to remove curse.

Tux from wedding #1 sold on E-Bay as well.

the curse of the diamond is a powerful force indeed. but the prospect of shoveling money to the diamond cartels angers me enough that I need SOME way to feel I am not getting abused in the purchase.

I just puffed and didn't inhale on the first marriage. This time I'm going to inhale and hold for a few years ;-)

I hope this story ends with you happily married using a different ring, because otherwise the moral here sounds a lot like "don't sell your grandmother's heirloom diamond ring because you can't admit you don't know how to pick 'em." In any case, I think you're allowed to wear the same tuxedo again, though if it were me and I could afford it I'd buy a new one. Fresh start and all that. Of course, I'm the type of person who actively seeks out excuses to wear black tie; if your tuxedo has been in a closet for the past 8 years I'm guessing you aren't. Congratulations on keeping the figure.

With every marriage a notch is should be added to the lapel. Women should avoid men with sawtooth lapels unless they have a substantial prenuptial agreement.

I can't believe the advice here...are you guys out of your ******* minds? Do any of you have a clue about the way woman think? Don't even think of wearing it and in fact burn it. I can just about guarantee that if any woman, much less your wife, hears about it that story will be told over and over again as an example of your insensitivity, stupidity, etc., etc..

Dude, were you planning on using the same wedding band too?

My response is going to be very old-fashioned but I am a romantic at heart.

This is a new beginning for you and your bride-to-be.
No matter if you (or her) have been married before. It is still a new beginning for both of you.
Everything about your new life should be special and new. It will certainly be special to her.
Wearing the same tuxedo twice, in my opinion, is an insult to your new wife.
It diminishes her, your respect for her, and yourself. Personally I would never do such a thing.
If you wear the same tuxedo, next thing you'll have her wearing your ex-wife's clothes.
Please don't do it.
Start over and start new is my advice. Have some class.
Cut off all ties with your old life (children excepted) and give this new wife her dream-come-true.
I am sure she will do the same for you. Congratulations on your engagement and best wishes.

Womb-men think different? Did you know that the most valuable womb-men don't care? Now if you make a big deal out of it, like stating that the only reason you have a tux is from your marriage to Petunia and begin to cry over it, they might. _______________ The important question: Is this her first wedding? _____________
