very classy with the Omega. love it!!! Are we allowed to post higher end watches here? I didn't know that we could on here

This is a vintage piece - comparable examples are widely available well under $1k. This one netted out less than $1k even with a needed servicing.

I take the aspect of general availability to be part and parcel of the $1k ceiling. If you come across a new Rolex at a garage sale by a disgruntled spouse for $50, that's not a PMW.

On the other hand, many a watch that sells for $3k new can be had for $1k used - and I think that's fair game. This thread should be a showcase of what $1k or less can buy you. That could be a brand new $100 Seiko 5 or a used $1k Longines.

Nah! If I get a Rolex for 50 bucks, you can bet your backside I’m posting it here! :slayer:

That was my immediate thought too! I'd be posting that up everywhere!

Rolex in its essence is an under 1000USD watch no matter how much fawning is taking place over that uninspiring, mass produced watch.

I will weigh in here... depending on the Rolex model... yes, I totally agree with you. At cost, the cheapest Rolex is definitely under 1k

Timex has a new line of watches with what looks like coloured glass. They look pretty neat.
