Ebay and STP (and VCH, eHaberdashe, SF buying & selling, and on and on) make it relatively easy to buy high-end clothes for 70% off or more. The hard part is saying no.
If you are lucky enough for these places have your size. Welcome to the world of a 36S. eHaberdasher had a 36s Isaia that I was thinking about for a week -- then someone else bought it. What do you know, none of these other places carry 36s right now.

I don't know of any black label shoes in general, but the PL/Polo ones show up periodically. The main eBay seller is Grapevinehill, who seems to get them in good-sized batches. GVH will sell them all off, then there will be a long dry spell, and then more will show up. At least that's what has happened previously -- hope more are on the way.

No, Black Labels are not Polo Shoes. In fact I have not seen any shoes that are Black Labels.

Black Labels started about two years ago and it is positioned between the regular blue label line and the purple label line. At the inception (2005?), only suits and dress shirts were made under the Black Label. I have started to see some sportswear under the Black Label line starting last year, primarily in cashmeres and leather jackets. Everything made under the Black Label is slim fit (go at least one size up, if you wear 42 R in suits, you need at least 44R in Black Label).

Beyond the regular Polo retail stores, Saks is the only one that carries it, I think.

I ain't no bidness expurt but doesn't RL lose money on their dedicated stores? Why would they open up more of them when the existing retail stores -- except presumably the mansion -- all operate in the red?

Or are these to be actual outlets to get rid of surplus and end of line stuff?

IIRC the Mansion has been their biggest money-loser. They spent tens of millions renovating it and I don't think it's ever operated at any significant profit even in good years. They also had an opportunity to buy the building outright which they (foolishly, in retrospect) turned down. So now they're stuck paying an exorbitant rent.

I'm not sure about the other dedicated Ralph Lauren stores except that they are not as profitable as the outlets.

For more details on this, see Michael Gross's biography of RL.

Orlando store is open! And here is their phone number: 407-465-8642. The store is all PSRs (Polo Stores Return), nothing was specially made for that store.

That might explain why my local Polo outlets have not received any significant PSR for some time now. The Cabazon Polo outlets has only Polo Rugby.
